Perspex® is slightly cheaper than glass and will look the part around your home.
Glass can be a better alternative if you are planning on having a splashback close to extreme heat – near your hob and cooker.
In 99.9% of situations your splashback won’t fade from exposure to sunlight.
If your splashback is exposed to sunlight, the UV Rays may cause fading over many years.
However, since Genie began trading in 2016 there has been no customer feedback relating to faded and fading splashbacks. Our splashbacks are manufactured using quality materials, and by industry leading professionals.
Our acrylic splashbacks are made of Perspex®, a clear cast acrylic which has the following qualities:
Acrylic sheets have an excellent resistance to UV rays meaning the material will not discolour or degrade over time.
Perspex® clear cast acrylic has an exceptional light transmission in excess of 92% of visible light.
Your windows should also provide additional UV protection meaning your splashback will be long-lasting and show a clear image without the risk of fading.

Our made to measure printed splashbacks are incredibly durable.
This means they can easily withstand general wear, bumps and knocks, although they can scratch.
Easily cleaned with a simple warm water and soap solution, printed splashbacks do not attract dust and therefore remain cleaner for longer.
You will be pleased to know, printed splashbacks are very easy to clean.
You won’t have to spend forever cleaning in between cracks, like you do with tiles.
Here’s how to clean a printed splashback:
To remove general dirt and grime, you can simply wipe down your splashback with a soft kitchen cloth.
To remove oily residues and grease, simply use a cloth and a household cleaning product. Be careful not to use a corrosive cleaning product or abrasives, as you may damage the surface of your splashback.
Once you have finished cleaning, simply wipe the splashback with a dry cloth. You will then have a beautifully clean printed splashback.

Yes, our printed splashbacks can be fitted behind your kitchen hob. You need to ensure there is a safe distance between the hob and your splashback so that it doesn’t get damaged!
