Are Perspex® splashbacks any good?

This means they can easily withstand general wear, bumps and knocks. although they can scratch. 
Easily cleaned with a simple warm water and soap solution, Perspex® Splashbacks do not attract dust and therefore remain cleaner for longer.

Where can I have a Perspex® splashback in my home?

Perspex® splashbacks can be used in a variety of setting around the home.

Although splashbacks are heat resistant, they need to be 5-10cm away from your gas or ceramic hob.

How do you clean Perspex® splashbacks? Is it easy?

You will be pleased to know, Perspex® splashbacks are  easy to clean. 
Here’s how you clean a Perspex® splashback:
To remove general dirt and grime, you can simply wipe down your splashback with a soft cloth.
To remove oily substances and grease, use a cloth and a household cleaning product. Make sure you use a product that isn’t corrosive or that could damage the surface of your splashback.
Once you have finished cleaning, simply wipe the splashback with a dry cloth. You will then have a beautifully clean splashback.

Can you use Perspex® as a kitchen splashback?

Yes, absolutely. traditionally kitchen hob splashbacks are manufactured from ceramic or glass.
Whilst glass is the best choice for around a hob due to its heat resistant nature, if you are looking to protect the walls around your sinks and work surfaces, Perspex® is a great choice.

Are Perspex® splashbacks cheaper than glass?

Good question! 
Typically, Perspex® splashbacks are cheaper than glass alternatives.
If you are shopping around for a fantastic addition to your home, but your budget doesn’t extend to glass a Perspex® Genie splashback is the perfect alternative.
Also, if you just need something to protect the walls next to your kitchen sink, or are fed up with cleaning tiles, and don’t want to break the bank, these splashbacks are a sensible choice.

Will Perspex® splashbacks melt if exposed to heat?

A Perspex® splashback is best suited to low heat environments. 
This includes bathroom, shower rooms and wet rooms. In contrast to glass, Perspex® splashbacks can start melting and can deform at 80 degrees and turn to liquid at 160°C.

Can you have a Perspex® splashback behind a kitchen hob?

Yes, however, this does depend on the type of hob.

Perspex® splashbacks can be fitted behind ceramic and induction hobs, with a distance of 50mm between the rear of the hob and the splashback. 

For a gas hob, you would need to choose one of our toughened glass splashbacks.
